I will,if you will: Earth Hour 2012

(Photos by Albertology)

This is my second time to celebrate with the people who really care the importance of saving energy to save our mother earth thru Earth Hour - a simultaneous event with 135 countries worldwide.

The official switch-off location in Mindanao is in SM DAVAO. Together with the heads of the local and regional tourism and some leaders of the local government, together with the people of Davao, lights turned off.

Heavy rain poured as the count down went to zero. Unfortunately, we failed to lit the candles forming 60+ but it didn't stop us to celebrate this world wide event.

Sports Unlimited host and an Ambassador of WWF Marc Nelson hyped up the show as he remained cool and enthusiastic in keeping the show festive as it should be.

Where Earth Hour Began

In 2007, WWF-Australia inspired Sydney-siders to show their support for climate change action in the first ever Earth Hour event. It showed that everyone, from children to CEOs and politicians, has the power to change the world they live in. In Sydney, Australia, 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights out for one hour to take a stand against climate change.

In 2008, the plan was to take Earth Hour to the rest of Australia. But then the City of Toronto, Canada, signed up and it wasn’t long before 35 countries and almost 400 cities and towns were part of the event. It said something compelling to the world: that the climate challenges facing our planet are so significant that change needs to be global.
With the invitation to ‘switch off’ extended to everyone, Earth Hour quickly became an annual global event. It’s scheduled on the last Saturday of every March – closely coinciding with the equinox to ensure most cities are in darkness as it rolled out around the Earth.
In 2011, Earth Hour saw hundreds of millions of people across 135 countries switch off for an hour. But it also marked the start of something new – going Beyond the Hour to commit to lasting action on climate change. And with the power of social networks behind the Earth Hour message, we hope to attract even more participation so we can build a truly global community committed to creating a more sustainable planet.

Subdivsion in Davao: Bambu Estate

Let me help you finding the best deal in investing a house and lot in Davao City featuring the top subdivisions in Davao.

Davao City has been nominated for the New7wonder cities in the world maybe because life is here.

Economically, investors have been pouring not just their money but their full support to the growth of the city especially the housing developers.

Subdivisions have sprouted drastically since the demand has been so high since the downtown area is so populated now prompting the investors to stay in a country side type subdivsions.

BAMBU ESTATE
HOUSE MODELS PRICE: P2,200,000

Bambu is a 28-hectare Japanese inspired housing subdivision located just along the way of Mintal, Davao City. This is just in front of Philippine Science highschool.

It is a middle end community where you can enjoy the exclusive clubhouse and swimming pool. There will be two clubhouses and swimming pools. One in Bambu North and in Bambu South.

It is now the most loved subdivision in Davao after it was opened to the public.

The material used in each house is a prefabricated wall panel in which it is 10x harder than a concrete hollow block. Only Kisan Lu Lands use this in all of its housing projects.

Use your PAGIBIG Fund or Loan in your banks. Or you might as well pay it directly to the company.

Meet the Davao Punisher

Had it not been for the induction of the new set of officers of the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association,Inc I would not be able to get a chance to see the most dangerous man in the eyes of the criminals, the Davao Vice Mayor Rody Duterte.

I will not make a wikipedia of Vice Mayor himself here. I just wanna share his thoughts he had shared to us during the said event in Marco Polo Davao.

Digong inducted the officers and gave his blessings to the housing developers of Davao by citing some of the local issues that even her daughter, Davao mayor Sarah Duterte is facing.

Rody is not in favor of Inday Sarah's gun ban order in the whole month of March. He stressed out that the move was lucking in publicity. He added that lack of publicity is violation to due process. This only means that,Inday and Rody are truely working as the pillars of the city expressing in one intention but different in action.

Davao VMayor also shared that his stand is hard as a concrete wall. He is not in favor of any mining operations in Davao. He said, there will be companies like HOLCIM who will be affected much with mining especially the health of mother nature. Mining will only make the city a place like hell.

I was astonished by his 'karesma'. I felt so very safe while he was talking in front of 40 people including me. He has the aura of a true father.

Even before when I was still wiping my own shits inside my nose, I always look up to the Dutertes. I love them. I love the way he cleans the shits in the streets. Cge, panulis pa mo ug pag shabu shabu..hehe.

Anyway, this is Davao. Life is indeed here.

Bakit si Corazon ang Unang Aswang?

Corazon ang Unang Aswang is released by Skylight Production, a division film outfit of Star Cinema and it is directed by Romy Somes.

Synopsis:

Corazon (Erich Gonzales) is Daniel's (Derek Ramsey) wife who is longing to give him a child to prove her love to Daniel. Giving birth might as well heal the connotation of the community about her as a daughter of a bitch. The conflict starts when Corazon questions God after her new born child died and eventually, makes her insane pushing her to kill all children in her place. And the 'screaming' begins on this part.

Packaging
The movie was set in the Japanese rule (1946) where you will see a different color correction of the film. The green fields turned yellow. There were too much warm and crushed blue scenes but the details were not compromised.Derek Ramsey stays hunk and Erich looks so lovable.

Cast
Kudos to Epy Quizon for a job well done as a supporting actor who plays as Daniel's friend. The extras were also perfect. The costumes and their faces fit the setting giving the viewers the element of consistency. The children victims, were doing their job well. The acting wasn't bad. Erich and Derek, on the other hand, got the spark that the market wants to see. They compliment each other. I am sure, you will love this couple in the movie.

The Style

The film has succeeded a new experimental film in terms of technicalities. The establishing shots of the locations and its mood were successful. The witch Erich was very convincing. Her acting prowess is enough to kill a viewer with heart problems.

The first 25 minutes is full pack drama. It almost dragged the show but the moment you complain, scenes changed. The energy gets high and the plot slowly reveals the real message of the film.

Aswang in this film is different. She is a human who does inhuman actions. I like how the writer creates his own version of the origin of aswang tapping the Filipino-Japanes war. The creators projected that everybody can be an aswang consuming our own pride.

The message

It isn't hiding. The real message of the film is not the history of ASWANG according to Somes mind but the characters realization when they have found real love. Unconditional love. A feeling that saves you when you are experiencing darkness in your life.

The message is how to become brave despite of all rejections and when we feel that GOD does not exist. Although, in this film, GOD is not emphasized but I think it is now our duty to comprehend it.

I like how the film ends as much as I want to spoil the movie.haha..Unlike the usual horror films, it should be ended with one big scary revelation!

The cast were gone physically living somewhere but as Epy said, " Sa tuwing may kumakaliskis sa ilalim ng bahay at umuungol ang mga aso, alam naming nandyan lang sila" which is so true. We are scared when we hear strange sounds. We don't dare crossing the jungle at night. We use the thought of aswang to discipline our kids.

Corazon is the first witch. The first pinoy horror film I love. Why is she the first aswang really?
Watch the film.
