Enchanted River

Very enchanting.Spectacular.Five stars recommended.

My travel to this enchanting paradise in Hinataun Surigao del Sur revitalized my senses as I was being re oriented once again with the nature’s splendour. Introducing the Enchanted River. WATCH MY UNDERWATER VIDEOGRAPHY

Sited in Hinatuan, people called the river enchanted because of its indisputably enthralling nature’s masterpiece. The bluish water conveys that it is not shallow. This 85 feet deep river scares most of the tourists for it seems you will be swallowed when you dive. Yet, this feeling didn’t stop me to jump and feel the coldness of this pure water. As per the native, the water is actually coming from the sipped stored water in the mountain and from rainfalls.. “Bugwak” is the term in vernacular which means a water is being released out. So, there is no reason to this river to gulp down anyone.

My first time with a dentist

Albertology mirrors his teeth while Dr. Charles Ortiz checks it.
Toothache really sucks.Disturbing.Irritating.
For 3 weeks I have been suffering from sudden attack of toothache. It creates another ache when it strikes- headache. These two aliens invaded the colony of my senses. I was working defocus for I am always in trouble inside my head. I take ibuprofen everyday just calm the ache down.
Had it not been for www.olanology.com, I would not meet Dr.Charlez Ortiz. A doctor by profession but a photographer, blogger and traveler himself also.
He was one of the back pack travelers who have conquered Samal last April 16-17,2011. From there, he introduced himself as a dentist. Perfect timing since I have tooth problem.
Teeth cleaning.
The experience was scary at start owing to the point that was my first time. I really don't like injection or any medicinal laboratories. I am afraid of it. But, I have no choice. I would choose to die instantly than to see my self draining everyday because of that toothache.
Dr.Ortiz was good. He managed to pull out my decayed teeth. It was not that hurting than I expected.Well, that was my very first time after 23 years.

The Hunt for a Million-worth Tokay "Tuko" Gecko

My visit to Biao Valencia Tugbok District to check some relatives turned to a scary and adventurous hunt. Tokay Gecko also known as "Tuko/Toko", has been reported world wide that it heals AIDS and CANCER. Thus, selling such creature makes you a millionaire! Pricing of Tuko flooded the internet. There are buyers who are willing to pay 70,000,000 million pesos for a healthy 490-gram Tokay Gecko. And, check this out, 700,000,000 million pesos is given away for a 1.5 kg tuko! Oops, I am not yet selling this. I am not yet a millionaire. We have to take good care first this wild lizards because wild caught tokays are usually stressed and less weight.

That wasn't easy. A friend climbed a mango tree where bamboo's were hanged for many months ago. The native said, tukos lived there. We found out that a family of tuko, mother, father, offsprings and unhatched eggs  were inside bamboo. The little geckos were too brisk. The parents were on their attack mode.Meanwhile, my friends prepared another bamboo cut with screen. Unfortunately, some little geckos escaped through the screen. As first timer to wild-hunting event, I couldn't stay even closer. Honestly, when I took the picture, it was in Auto Mode because I didn't want to hear the geckos "To-key" sound and stepped back after a fast camera capture.

Mud surfing, anyone?

Surfer took advantage with the flood.
Pilipinos are indeed innovative and funny. We always see the brighter side. Last April 5, 2011, Davao suffered from flood. Hundreds of people were stranded and some were forced to step on muddy and dirty water with their heels and shoes. But this guy shown above, together with his surfing companions had fun with the flood. Took advantage with a free surfing on street.

Early morning after the heavy rains, I got a chance to pass by Agdao where I saw these young men having fun. Despite of oil spills, dirt, bacteria and other elements, these did not stop the surfer dudes.Looking the other side of the coin, this points me an idea of not giving up to what is going on.

The spirit was there. The surfer just wanted to show to the world that he can ditch with his board. He did not even care of what others say. That's how I perceive filipino spirit.
