Let see what will it bring to me since I had a great year also in 2010. To all year of the rabbit persons, here's some hints I have came across while browsing the net. It speaks about us in 2011!

Horoscope 2011, forecast for the 2011 year of the white Rabbit

The coming 2011 year of the metal Rabbit is around the corner. It is not the size of this animal that makes sense for the whole year, but its inner nature. It looks like we've got quite sophisticated period with gracious manners and sensitivity. This 2011 year of the white Rabbit your may pin hopes on your sense of intuition. But don't be impatient or be in harry, in 2011 year of the Rabbit without concentration you will fail.

Blessed is he who shares!

Arch.Kristin Lu,Mommy Linda Lu and Mindy Lu are on their way to share its blessings!

(Published in www.albertology.com). We went home physically weary but spiritually high after leaving hundreds of the so called less fortunate people, with foods and smiles on their faces at Catalunan Grande Gym last December 18, 2010. The endeavor is in partnership with the Junior Chamber International (JCI DAVAO) headed by Steve Arquiza.

I was told by the Presiden Arch.Kristin Lu to not publish anything about the event on the newspaper because she doesn't want to be sound hypocrite as she said you do not have to tell the public if you are heartily helping. But , sorry madam, at least on facebook and on my website, I could somehow tell the world of Kisan Lu Lands greatness!Superb!

The KLLDI prepared a mini xmas party to more or less 50 families who came from the far flung areas of Catalunan and brought by Kisan Lu at Catalunan gym. The activity was so memorable where each employee has to foster or represent one family. They played, talked and ate with each other. A group of employees also rendered the less fortunate families a song and dance number which entertained much to the invited families.

I could see the genuine service of JCI and KLLDI employees even the boss (VP- Mindy LU, VP Operation Ram Lu and Mommy Linda Lu). Under the warm and hot condition we were still able to share happiness to the lumads and their babies.

One thing made me realize how great are these "Lu" family was when I saw them, through my camera lens, walking out and came after with box and cans of milk along with them and personally handle it to the parents of the newly born baby. That gave me more energy because that time my body system powered down due to my previous event (KLLDI agents party). As JCI believes, We seek better solutions to build better communities, creating a better future. So with that positive thought, it boosted my engine and forget of my posture just to capture the event making it more memorable.

There is one thought that points me to an idea. I am so lucky to be part of Kisan Lu Lands whose heart is as big as a football. I am lucky that I became part of the mission that makes hundreds of poor people smile and at least. I am lucky that at least I could tell myself that I was once a giver and not always a receiver. I am lucky that I was part of that kind of "hope-giving" activity. Thanks to JCI DAVAO. Thanks to Arch.Kristin Lu. Long Live Kisan Lu Lands!

The KLLDI energetic employees!

Villa Kareena: New Kisan Lu Lands Pride!

Yesterday (Dec.8,2010) Kisan Lu Lands officially opened Villa Kareena subdivision to its salespersons at Brgy Baliok,Tugbok, Davao City. This small community is a Mediterranean inspired housing project of Kisan Lu Lands where anyone can have a piece of it for as low as P850,000 thru In-house or Pag-IBIG fund.

Kisan Lu Lands has revealed its new house model for this economic housing project. A mocha-colored house that gives elegance despite of its classification as low cost yet the quality is preserved. And this is far better than the usual low cost housing of the "anothers".

Villa Kareena house is a 2-bedroom shelter with a total floor area of 38.48 sq. and a lot area of 100 sq.m. The owner does not only enjoy the house but also facilities like basketball court (half court), Entrance gate with 24-hour security guards, permiter fences and full cemented main and auxillary roads.

The word Villa means "Village" and Kareena means "pure". Thus, this is a village of pure. Pure service, pure delivery, pure project and pure pride not just of Kisan Lu but for Davao City.

The logo is created by yours truly. I made it out of story behind this project. Let us just put this way, a green leaf is sprouting as an epitome of refreshed and new beginning since this was once an ill-fated project of the "anothers" and KLLDI has just bought and saved it.

With a peaceful ambiance in Villa Kareena plus Kisan Lu Lands brilliant and excellent in architecture, life will be made easy!

Mindanao Film Fest 2010: A Review

The festival ended last night with a sigh of success for both film makers and organizers at the Villa Margarita. Full packed of special guests from the north. (e.g NCCA, CinemaRehiyon, actor Rez Cortez, Davao talents and beauty titlists). The night was great. I was honoured to be part of the batch where I have seen such great films. It is an indication that film as an art of expression, progresses now in Mindanao.

I saw the festival grew. I saw my films grew also, though, step by step, at least I have learned. From “BADJAO,HITHITBUGHA, CHACHA,HULAGWAY,now FACEBROKE ,garnering some awards and recognitions, I learned one thing how to make my films better--- TIME.

With the world I have, with the tasks I am doing everyday, with the priorities I am fixing every minute, I would say, NO ENOUGH TIME TO SHOOT BETTER ANGLES AND BETTER EDITING. Still, I am proud to say, at least I made it and able to share stories on big screen towards hundreds of individuals. This is what we called—passion.

Thanks to the Mindanao Film & Television Dev. Inc. Dax Cañedo for giving us an outlet to keep our passion burning by organizing such film fest.

On the other hand, I am “slightly” saddened of the show—the fest itself. Not the result of the awards because we deserve it but the organization of festival.Gumastos ako ng hundreds just to watch my very own film? (Though accordingly refundable daw) As an event organizer myself, I can smell mini loopholes that could have been easily to be solved if they do this and do that.

Ya I know, it was toxic on their side. I can feel their heavy loads and stress auras while the festival is going on. I fully understand that. It is just that I wanna give a constructive criticism as far as my opinion is concerned for the BETTER because at the end of the day—this is not only MFF show but OUR SHOW.

The scenario

On a particular day at the Gmall Cinemas, organizers issued gate passes for the filmmakers ( not to mention the brouhahas on the system). The Ids are for the key film makers and only the director can watch all the films for free regardless of the block time. On the next day, I rushed to the cinema to watch other films and even my own film. Suddenly, the guard blocked me and told me that privileged Ids are no longer effective.Just yesterday I was instructed about the ID thing huh? Baka ang guard ang mali I said, so I have to spend a P100 ticket each just to watch our FILM?

Ridiculous, because I have learned the changes from the security guard’s mouth and not from the festival’s text brigade. Suddenly, batch of filmmakers who were seemingly punked first before me informed me the latest.I told myself, hey where are the organizers? They are supposedly the ones who will be telling this MAJOR change to the entrants.

By and by,a member from the festival caught our attention and gathered us informally in a “sound of silence” to formally announced the “wind of change”. Accordingly, due to GMALL and MFF change of agreement. I will not bother to elaborate it because the logic is, before hand, both parties agreed and signed a contract that the system is this and that. If I were them, why change? Yes, I understand the reason but for me it is unforgivable to BIG EVENT like this ( Oops I forgive you guys). I am saying this so that the organizers will know the weak points on 2010 fest.

Next year, I suggest that the following will be enhanced. These are the things that I think need to improve as much as I will improve our films too.

Ø Poster Design ( Sana na inform man lng ako thru text na ganun lng kaliit ang e print, hnd na sana nag effort to write more text on it)

Ø Fix Date ( Not all film makers are filmmakers by profession. Some are too busy and cannot afford to exude extra effort just to adjust with MFF’s sudden change).

Ø MTRCB ( Please give us complete pre requisites next time that are in tact. Avoid pushing us to wire to accomplish documents that could have been announced earlier para ma set ang schedules agad naming)

Ø IDS and TICKETS ( Very important matters)

Ø Don’t share your stress to us. I mean, do not show to us that you are being eaten by changes and unexpected problems.Create POSITIVE mode meyn. As early as now, dapat alam na ang dapat gawin para maagapan ang munting bagay na lalaki lng dahil sa isyu. Chillax and SMILE.

However, as I’ve said, this festival 2010 is far better than the past festivals. I can see institutions that are seriously helping the MFF. That is a great sign of progress. Again, CONGRATULATIONS to the 6th Mindanao Film Festival. Everyone was doing great! I am looking forward for more better films.

Cebu versus Davao

My second visit to Cebu made me compare Davao to the said "Queen of the South".Nothing compares Cebu. Nothing compares Davao either. The queen of the south performs better economically speaking. The blooming of its remarkable edifices shows that Cebu is getting even more better than before. Tall buildings are rising.
Its government obviously allows investors to create more reasons to visit the city and entice more tourists. One example is the Crown Regency Tower that claims to be the tallest hotel tower in the Philippines whose amenities edges out other hotels -The Edge Coaster and the Skywalk Adventure. These draw interest not just to the private individuals but even to the celebrities namely Kim Chiu,Angelica Panganiban, Zanjoe,Pooh, Cong.Manny Pacquio, ABS CBN program Trip na Trip and Sports Unlimited.

Shangrila and its amazing set-up helps the city to remain its crown as the queen. Cebu is indeed a very competitive city aside from being historical.(Magellan-Lapu Lapu story, The Catholics regime and the Spanish War at the fort).

BUT!

I tried watching the cebu news on TV on my second night there. Ewww...this makes me proud of Davao. Here comes the beauty of Davao. Water. Since water is life, now it is very safe to say, YOU ARE SAFE IN DAVAO than CEBU.

The news gave a connotation to the tourists that perhaps Cebu hotels also offer contaminated water. That was I feel after watching the news. As a tourist on that particular days, I refrained drinking tap water and buy mineral water instead. That sucks.

Davao as the "peace-capital" of the south, still makes me proud of.Drop the infrastructure, drop the amenities, drop the shamrock thingy and even the skywalk adventure thing, Im still proud being a dabawenyo. ( Pero infairness lng jud pud sa Cebu, bongga gyud ang skywalk adventure, pamapawala jud ug stress...hehe).Well, this is just my opinion.
