Makulay ang Buhay sa Sinabawang Bata!

"Kyle" is his name. A biboong child who knows only to play and animate things. A cute little boy who has been captured by my lens.
One day in Calinan Davao City, while our group was preparing for our report, I heard a scream- a total scream! So I went out to trace the shout. Hahaha it was Kyle.He cried because his lola left him inside the big caldero. Instead of helping him, I laughed loud and I let him cry for I have to take a shot. Then, I have learned that, it is usual routine every morning to take a bath in that thing! I thought he will be our viand for breakfast. It would be a Makulay ang buhay sa sinabawang bata!

KADAYAWAN: Festival of Festivals

This pure "ATA" participates in the street dance showing to the people the right moves of their tribe as correction to those who were imitating their dance with a touch of modernity and exaggeration.

(posted four hrs after the festival) KADAYAWAN Festival is said to be the festival of festivals because of the diversity of its culture. Indak Indak sa Kadalanan (Street dance) is one of the highlights of the festival. It is said that you will miss the half of your stay in Davao if you were not able to witness such street dance. Due to the excellent creativity of these participants, you would really see the variations of arts in dancing. Concepts differ from each other. There were monsters (signifying bad side of human), animal-inspired dance, culture-based presentation and imaginative neo dance. These concepts converged and received high ovation. Photographers, documentarists, press and bloggers were also busy in capturing every moment in the street. I have witnessed the smiles of the foreigners who were engrossed taking picture with the dancers and their children. The participants that time were the celebrities for by and by they were requested to pose with their love ones. Well, their colorful costumes attracted the audiences. I even heard some teenagers shouting that they have to have pictures for their FRIENDSTER. The City was covered with smiles, applause and appreciations.
What made the Indak Indak more worth seeing was the active and energetic participation of the kids from different schools who danced in the street for hours and it was a kilometer dance around the city. Even if they took a bath with their perspiration, they have succeeded the hot temperature and the tendency to collapse. It is also a joint forces with the teachers and the parents to guide and support their kids on the street. Thousands will be honored to those who will captivate the judges.

Long Live Short Man

A man who suffers much from poverty and a man who also posseses political mind. " Nestor" (not in real name) spent much his time in selling Sweeptakes tickets in a Church of Davao City "San Pedro Cathedral". In the first pic, I saw this old rich man who bought tickets from Nestor. They are having the same age but different in size and stability. At first, I thought this rich old one reprimanded Nestor for selling at the church maybe which pushed me to take a shot. But, when I got near, this rich one bought tickets with " keep the change" offer. Most probably this rich old guy pitied Nestor as I what I feel too. The church keeps on preaching to help one another and eradicate poverty by means of extending our genuine services to the poor masses. But kumusta ang mga katulad ni Nestor na even according to him Priests don't even mind them even if they are blatantly suffering from coldness and warmness of the church's environment. Nestor has big anger to the government. He was coming from Mati Davao Or. after the according to him "top secret tragedy" in his life that sailed him to Davao as poor and alone old man. He really hates corrupt officials who he thinks "the voracious evils". One of my friends interrogated him and sad to say he is actually one of the most affected person and victim of our dying country under the hand of corrupt government!
