Hail Holy Cross...Hail Durian Cinema

THE GIANTS.Alberto Egot,Jr., Real Sorroche, Janice Langcamon,Neil john Luayon and many more of Durian Cinema Production.
DURIAN CINEMA Production. A group of ambitions, of dreams, of fun and of excellence. I still remember when I started to think what shall I call with our group. It was during the Mindanao Film Festival when this film production's flag waved in the big screen of Gaisano Mall of Davao with our film "BADJAO" . As part of our project in TV Prod, Durian Cinema is always on top in terms of concept making, editing, and producing documentaries with a straight attack advocating peace. The following are the documentaries that we have successfully produced and received ovation. "UYAYI" (about street children in the city) "XEROX" (talks about the photocopying issues) "Pirata sa Kalsada" (pirated CDs and DVDs issue in Davao City which received 11 awards out of 12 during the Societas Trese Film Festival)"Sugilanon" (the Oppressed Lumads in Paquibato)"Buhay mo Susubukan ko"( Living with street vendors) "Lakbay Apo" (an adventure dokyu in MT.APO) And the newest pride of DCinema "TSILDREN:Employed?" (finalist of the ABC5 Best Student Documentary) As what I have said, it is a guild of ambitions which we think a stepping stone for our future as media men.

Progressive economy? How about us?

"Kolet" (real name protected) is one of the unfortunate children whose only dream is to eat three times a day. She is a 4 year old girl who does not know how to speak straightly for education is impossible for her. Her parents? At the house whose work is to beat them if they cannot remit their alms for the day.(That is according to Kolet's sister. The one who drinks Jolly Coke).
From 10 am (the time mall opens) to 10pm (the time mall closes)Kolet with her peers are always prepared for their lines and drama to persuade the people to give them leftovers or money. The reason of course is the word 'poverty'! Hey,hey, reports said that the Philippine economy is progressing. The performance of the country in the world market is doing well. The President boasts the developments. The government is filled with programs but if Kolet could say, she probably asks " How about us?" "Can you see us?" "Do you feel what we feel?" "Blessed are the poor, where is that blessing?" They would say it. These young innocents are the indicators that the nation is not yet united and formatted. It shows that the people in powers are not effective. The images suggest that change the leaders, change the system, change the demonic characteristics--CORRUPT! Hayyy (sigh of frustration)To the devil in the government, allow me to say "Putang ina Nyo!!!"

Bombo Radio awards me as the BEST ANNOUNCER

Four hours before this entry was posted Mr. Dennis Lazo of Bombo Radio Philippines Davao Chapter awarded me as the Best Announcer after I have completed the extensive workshop for RADIO WRITING and PRODUCTION organized by the HCDC Mass Communication Internship Program.
Radio Broadcasting is only half of my passion. It does not fit my personality (except the character of being a commentator). During the workshop, I never expect (common reason) that I did my best. Though, I still have knowledge in Voice Modulation and its tone so I cannot say that I am not deserving Wahahah... The training taught me how to love my own language (bisaya) I found out that I am poor in Bisaya Vocabulary. I mean, the standard words used by the news reporters. However I was able to transcribe English news to Bisaya with voice projection...with an AWARD whew!

Island Garden City of Samal
IGACOS- Island Garden City of Samal. The city of beaches and sceneries. It is known as the Davao Boracay. Tourists are everywhere. The family that has foreign visitors would bring them there to appreciate how lovely the nature is. Meanwhile, I was tasked by our school paper moderator to feature the Samal Campus of our school Holy Cross of Davao College.Alone! Well, I always wanted to be alone. Talking to my self as to what to do. After the blah blah interview with the faculty members of HCDC Babak Samal, I proceeded to the BSMT Training Center at Camudmud. (10 km from the heart of the City) Its tranquility covers the compound. The caretaker led me to the newest facilities of Marine course. But, it isn't the thing that paid my attention. It is the garbage lie along the shore (decayed bamboo stick and plastics) According to the caretaker, they only clean it when there will be training session with the CHED inspectors (Tnx for the honesty sir). Anyway, I still recommend you to visit SAMAL aside from these facts ( how deceiving advertising is) There are resorts here that fit your satisfaction. Believe me! Just ignore these mess when you arrived. Don't forget to bring camera (and a handkerchief) you might miss the scenic views there (as well as the mess around it)
