"BADJAO" the entry of Durian Cinema Prod, written and directed by yours truly bagged the award of "BEST FILM EXHIBITION" and proud to be nominated for "BEST DIRECTOR" BEST MUSICAL SCORING" BEST SCREEPLAY" and "RED FIST AWARD" It ranked also no. 2 for the "PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD" during the MINDANAO FILM FESTIVAL awards night last December 7. Meanwhile, the Holy Cross of Davao College entry for the Inter-colligiate documentary competition "DROPESA" brought home the award for the PDEA Best Documentary.
Thus, I would like to thank all the people who really supported the film and the big fishes behind the festival for giving us a chance to be on the big screen. The following are the films that were competing during the festival.

Mukha (face) Phat J Productions in association with Phoenix Pictures and Nugmergemi Productions Director: Michael Patrick Limbaga Mukha is the story of Armand, a hard working gay who struggles to live up to his responsibilities of being a good son and a good brother in the midst of hardships bought about by poverty and in a world that ridicules his gender.
Marsokwatro (Fourth Of March) Dream Arts Productions Director: Nae Ann Espinel A fictional thriller-drama story inspired by the March 4, 2003 Davao airport bombing which have killed 21 people and injured more than a hundred. The story evolved on the lives of three young bloods who struggled in their battles with life and their individual rage against who they believed was their enemy. The question is: How does one deal with the hurts and pains caused by tragic death of a loved one? How does one handle the consequences of his evil act? Where does one go after such a tragic incident?
Asa Ka Adto Pedring? (Where Will You Go My Son?) Cr8tiv Media Artz Work Director: John Paul Seniel Pedring,
a young truant, hates his parents for they remain poor. He believes, his mother Carlita cannot give him bright future, and that his mother's pregnancy is a curse on them. His mute-deaf father Delfin cannot cut his horns. On his way out from their house, his pregnant mother follows him, and unwontedly gives birth to her second child. However, Pedring on his way unexpectedly assists a woman giving birth alone at home. Discover where did Pedring go after all.
Tulak (Push) The Chosen Productions Director: Jericho Topacio Carding, determined to save his family from the crutches of poverty, is forced by circumstances to go into peddling illegal drugs using his son as a runner to avoid detection. Tulak is a tale of a man whose spiraling life of crime catches up with him endangering the lives of his loved ones, the ones he had tried to save.
Matris (The Babymaker) TH Productions and Greenlantern Productions Director: Dennis Ocier In the advent of modern technology, artificial insemination is such a way for childless couple to have one. However, being human incubators is an odd livelihood for women who live in a conservative society that frowns upon such liberal practices. Matris, acquaints us with the story of Violeta, who earns a living as the babymaker.

At ako lang ang wala kaya ang ginwa ko umalis ako mag isa palabas ng airport. Anong magagawa ko wala naman dito ang pamilya ko. Kaya sabi ko sa sarili ko "Proud ako sayo" itoy dahil marami na rin akong napuntahang mga lugar without the presence of my love ones. Nasanay na rin akong maglakbay mag isa. Kaya ang aking travel to baguio is the greatest X-mas gift to my self.
